Somewear Labs
Solutions Engineer
Summary
Somewear’s software platform and satellite-powered hardware enable commercial and government teams to maintain situational awareness during high-pressure operations — in any environment. From the Arctic to the Indo-Pacific, Somewear’s technology is trusted by those operating on the edge of connectivity to keep teams in touch, informed, and safe. Our mission is to save lives by enabling critical communications for the world’s most important teams.
We are seeking a technically strong, customer-facing Solutions Engineer to support our go-to-market team. You will own the technical side of the sales process—guiding customers through integrations, designing clear solution diagrams, delivering demos and proofs of concept, and supporting proposal responses. This role blends technical presales with light customer-success support to ensure customers adopt and deploy our satellite communication and mapping solutions successfully.
What You’ll Do
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for prospects and customers, particularly those integrating with TAK servers or other mission systems.
Walk customers step-by-step through integration workflows, referencing existing documentation and answering specific questions to confirm feasibility.
Create simple diagrams or architecture sketches that show proposed implementations, integration points, and how Somewear fits into customer workflows.
Talk directly with the prospect’s technical stakeholders to understand what they’re trying to accomplish, then translate that into clear technical recommendations.
Deliver product demonstrations, build demo environments, and run proof-of-concept trials to validate real-world use cases.
Surface customer requirements internally, clarify feasibility with product/engineering, and identify when platform changes or feature enhancements are needed.
Document customer feedback and draft initial proposals for custom development or configuration work.
Support sales and proposal teams with technical responses to RFIs/RFPs/OTAs, including diagrams, capability explanations, and data/security answers.
Maintain and test demo hardware/software prior to exercises, shipments, or customer evaluations.
We’re Looking for Someone Who
Communicates complex technical ideas clearly to operators, program offices, and internal technical teams.
Is proactive, organized, and comfortable owning the technical track of multiple deals from presales through early deployment.
Has hands-on experience with system integration, networking, or communication systems.
Thrives in a fast-moving environment where customer requirements evolve rapidly.
(Preferred) Has experience with DoD programs, unmanned systems, or TAK ecosystems.
(Preferred) Can obtain or already holds a security clearance.
