About this Role:
BRINC is seeking a SR Quality Inspector to ensure that every product we ship meets the rigorous quality standards our customers need as they utilize our drones to complete life-saving missions every day. As a SR Quality Inspector you will be responsible for performing in-process inspection as well as final inspection for all BRINC products. You are empowered to identify defects, bring these to the attention of the technician who built the product, require the defect to be repaired/corrected, and evaluate/fix any process gaps that resulted in the defect being generated in the first place. You will partner with the Quality, Test, and Design Engineering teams to identify critical-to-quality characteristics as well as the measurement method used to evaluate them.
Key Responsibilities:
Use metrology equipment to ensure product performance for highly-complex hardware, including PCBAs, optics, harnessing, soldering, mechanical fastening, adhesives, etc.
Report nonconformances when defective material is found and establish a process for containing all suspect material.
Read/interpret work instructions and drawings to define and perform quality inspections.
Perform critical in-process and final inspections for assembled products and subassemblies, including optics, PCBAs, precision machined components, and composite components.
Develop SOPs for other inspectors (or technicians) to follow for day-to-day tasks.
Support Material Review Board discussions to determine product dispositions for nonconforming material.
Partner with manufacturing technicians to implement sustainable corrective actions when defects are root caused..
Qualifications:
4+ years of combined experience in aerospace, defense, or related industries, including at least 2 years in quality inspection and 2 years in a technician role.
4+ years of experience reading/interpreting work instructions, engineering drawings, and/or inspection plans
4+ years of experience using hand tools
2+ years of experience using Calibrated tools, ie height gauges, calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, etc.
2+ years of experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
Understanding of SCAR and Nonconformance reports (NCR)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
Associate’s Degree or higher
Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) activities
ASQ Quality Inspector certification or similar
Certified inspector to IPC-610
Certified inspector to IPC-620
Familiar with automated inspection equipment, including Romer arms, comparators, CMMs, and other metrology software based inspection methods
Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
