We understand that most people want to take advantage of their employer benefits—like a 401(k) program or employee stock purchase program—but they might not be able to afford losing hundreds of dollars in paycheck deductions every month. That’s why we built Lendtable: We help our customers max out their benefits and give them the money to replace their contributions, so they can secure their financial future without losing the money they need for daily expenses. We are venture-backed by Y Combinator, Valor Equity Partners, Softbank, and heavy hitters like the former COO of Venmo and the President of Impossible Foods.
We are looking for a highly ambitious and experienced Product Designer who will shape Lendtable’s products and its design approach. You will own critical design projects end-to-end. You will be involved at every step of product development, from brainstorming broad ideas and contributing to product strategy to designing end-to-end features and ensuring design quality through launch. As an early member of the design team, you will play a critical role in shaping our customers’ journeys and constructing our design strategy and foundation to fuel growth.

- Own new features from ideation, to wireframes, to high-fidelity visual designs, to prototyping, to user testing, to final production
- Be an excellent communicator, conveying design ideas and solutions through both verbal and visual means, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and team
- Work on multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately
- Take initiative where you see gaps and help build design thinking and design processes
- Develop deep empathy for our customers, using research including usability testing to inform design solutions
- Building design system components and experiences from scratch, as needed (and using what we can from the existing design system)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of product design experience working at a startup or similarly resource restricted organization shipping great designs at a fast pace. Prefer candidates with prior consumer finance experience
- A strong understanding of information architecture, design systems, and human computer interaction that supercharges your ability to design intuitive experiences in complex spaces
- Experience creating functional prototypes (using HTML, CSS, etc) and working closely with product management and dev teams to implement your design solutions
- Portfolio examples of complex design challenges highlighting your end-to-end design process from concept through pixel-perfect designs. It must demonstrate visually appealing and simple experiences in complex domains such as finance.
- A strong work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to prioritize multiple work streams in a fast-paced startup
- Clear communicator and collaborator who is comfortable giving and taking design feedback, presenting to stakeholders and driving consensus around a common goal
- You’re a self-starter who is solution oriented, and you’re comfortable with defining, scoping and designing for new opportunities with and without the input of others
- Enthusiasm for growth and improvement, openness to feedback, and ability to work well with others
- Must be willing to work onsite in our San Francisco, CA office
