Job description
We’re looking for a Technical Artist who loves working where art meets code. You’ll help us bring our games to life in Godot — building shaders, particles, visual effects, tools, and workflows that make our games look great and run smoothly. If you enjoy solving technical problems, supporting artists, and turning ideas into polished in-game features, you’ll fit right in. We’re based in Vienna, Austria — one of the world’s most liveable cities, ranked 2nd in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index 2025.
Core responsibilities
- Create shaders, particles, and other visual effects in Godot
- Work closely with game design, art and programming to turn ideas into finished features
- Prepare and convert assets for implementation
- Import and set up 3D assets and animations
- Help the art team create clean, optimized, performant assets
- Improve textures, memory usage, and performance
- Build tools and scripts that make production smoother
- Help us deliver a polished, stable, and fun player experience
- Collaborate across development, art, design, and sound
Qualifications
- A background in media informatics, game design, or something similar
- Professional experience as a Technical Artist in game development
- Confidence working with C# and GDScript
- Experience with Godot
- Good understanding of shader programming
- Experience with Blender or similar tools is a plus
- Strong English communication skills; German is beneficial
- A practical, collaborative, problem-solving mindset
Additional information
- Gross salary starting at €3,175 per month (paid 14 times per year under the Austrian salary system), with higher compensation depending on experience and qualifications
- 30 vacation days
- Flexible working hours
- Option for remote / mobile work
- Opportunities to learn, grow, and take on more over time
Interested?
Send us your application and tell us a bit about yourself, your experience, and the projects you’ve worked on. If you like making games look better, run better, and feel better to play, we’d love to hear from you.
