The role
We’re looking for passionate, empathetic, and ambitious hustlers who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. As a Director of Engineering, you will be part of the founding team as we design, build and launch the first comprehensive digital solution for GI that delights users and delivers real, tangible results for patients.
In this role, you will…
Partner with the founding team to develop and execute Ayble’s technical roadmap, including the roll-out of our first commercial product.
Initially, lead a team of onshore developers to launch Ayble’s first product. Shortly after launch, transition to hire and build an in-house software engineering team.
Guide strategic business decisions from a technological standpoint, focused on scalability, compliance, and security.
Partner with the Marketing and Clinical team to synthesize customer and partner insights and integrate the voice of the customer in the product road mapping process and technical evolution of the product.
Process, review, and analyze data to increase and optimize customer experience and uncover new product insights.
Talk to users (patients), providers, health plans, employers and other stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of the business and the Ayble Health customer base.
Who we’re looking for
We index more on your experience and hustle than a college degree from a shiny institution. This role would be a good fit for you if you have the following…
7-10+ years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer in the healthcare (or other regulated) field, with 2-4+ years of management experience
Experience building mobile- and web-first products with end-to-end ownership of feature and infrastructure development
Experience managing external teams to build products on time, within budget and to high quality
Experience building a high-performing team and nurturing engineering culture
Nimble, agile, self-starter, with a growth mindset
Exemplary communication, project management, and teamwork skills; able to explain solutions to non-technical teammates
Passionate about improving healthcare and creating solutions for patients
Current Languages: Typescript / Javascript, Python 3, PostgreSQL
Current Technologies: React Native, React (17+), Tailwindcss, NodeJS, Expo, Flask/FastAPI, NumPy, SciPy, AWS / Google Cloud
