About Us:

Amper is a rapidly growing Series A startup at the intersection of industrial technology and SaaS, helping factories manage operations through IoT software. As we scale towards our next milestones, we are looking for a versatile and diligent Director of Finance to join our team and support our growth.

Position Overview: The Director of Finance will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury, tax, equity management, and capital raising activities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of scaling financial operations in a high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

    • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.

    • Develop financial models and perform scenario analysis to guide decision-making and strategic planning.

    • Provide actionable insights to the executive team through detailed financial reports and dashboards.

  • Accounting:

    • Oversee the accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.

    • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.

    • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure successful audits and compliance.

  • Treasury & Tax:

    • Manage the company’s cash flow, optimizing liquidity, and ensuring the availability of funds for operational needs.

    • Oversee tax planning and compliance, working with external advisors to minimize tax liabilities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

    • Develop and maintain banking relationships to support the company's financial operations.

  • Equity Management:

    • Administer the company’s equity plans, including stock option grants, vesting schedules, and cap table management.

    • Collaborate with legal and HR teams to ensure compliance with equity-related regulations and reporting.

  • Capital Raising:

    • Lead the company’s efforts in raising capital, including equity (Series B and beyond) and debt financing (revolving line of credit, term loans).

    • Prepare investor materials, manage due diligence processes, and negotiate terms with potential investors and lenders.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective investors and financial institutions.

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Act as a key strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial matters, contributing to overall company strategy.

    • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

    • Implement financial systems and processes that scale with the company’s growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within a high-growth startup environment.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Proven experience in managing accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, and equity management functions.

  • Demonstrated success in capital raising activities, including equity and debt financing.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical mindset, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
